Checkups & Cleanings

These two services are the cornerstones of all dentistry, and that’s because they not only keep your teeth clean and healthy, but they also give us a chance to catch dental issues at their earliest stages!

During a dental cleaning, one of our hygienists will use sophisticated tools to thoroughly eliminate any plaque and tartar deposits you have on your teeth and gums, and then Dr. Farian will perform an oral exam where he’ll look for the signs of common dental problems such as tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease. By coming in for a checkup every six months, he can quickly treat any dental issues you have before they can affect your smile.

Dental Sealants

The chewing surfaces of the back teeth are one of the most common areas for cavities to develop because they can be tough to completely clean while brushing. We can give these teeth a little bit of extra protection using something called a dental sealant. We’ll simply apply a clear, thin layer of a plastic-based substance directly to the tooth, which will create an invisible barrier against potentially harmful plaque and food particles.

Nightguards for Bruxism

Bruxism is a condition where a person unconsciously grinds their teeth, and for most, it actually occurs while they are asleep! Over time, it can severely wear down the teeth and cause them to fracture. Fortunately, we can help you manage this sneaky problem using something called a nightguard, which is a custom-made mouthpiece. You’ll only need to wear it to bed, and it will provide a protective cushion between your teeth to keep them safe while you sleep.

Mouthguards/Sportsguards

Most dental injuries such as knocked out and fractured teeth actually stem from playing sports that involve physical contact, and this is why you should make sure your teeth are always protected before you hit the field, court, or mat. Rather than relying on a generic, uncomfortable mouthguard you can buy at the store, we can provide you with a complete custom-made one right in our Broadview Heights office. It will be custom-fit for your smile and it will do a much better job of defending your teeth.

Oral Cancer Screenings

The American Cancer Society recommends that all people should have at least one oral cancer screening per year, as early detection is the best way to ensure successful treatment of the disease. Dr. Farian can perform one as part of your regular checkup, where he’ll examine your lips, gums, cheeks, tongue, and throat for any signs of the disease. If he finds anything that causes concern, he can advise you on what to do next.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a very common mineral that has long been shown to help strengthen the teeth against both decay and damage. Because of this, we will offer a topical fluoride treatment as part of every regular checkup. This application of fluoride can help reduce teeth sensitivity as well as improve the enamel’s resistance to harmful acids, dramatically lowering a patient’s chances of developing cavities. It’s fast, it’s painless, and it’s one of the best ways we can help you stay cavity-free between appointments!

Emergency Dentistry

A dental emergency is any situation where the teeth have been injured and/or a person is in severe dental pain. Dr. Farian and our entire team are very experienced at handling a wide array of dental emergencies, and when you call in with one, we will do everything we can to see you as quickly as possible. Basically, when you need dental care RIGHT NOW, you can rely on our practice to always be there when you need us the most.

Periodontal (Gum) Disease Therapy

Approximately 80% of people have some form of gum disease, which often goes unnoticed for many years. Many people are not aware of some of the early warning signs, such as bleeding gums and pain. If you have symptoms of gum or periodontal disease, we will diagnose the extent of treatment needed and provide it for you.
