What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed directly into the jawbone in order to mimic the root structure of a lost tooth. Not only does this provide unmatched stability for the replacement teeth, which come in the form of a custom-made dental restoration; it also restores essential support to the jaw and keeps it healthy and strong while preventing the bone resorption that commonly occurs when teeth are lost.
The 4-Step Dental Implant Process

When you come in to get dental implants, Dr. Farian will begin by performing a thorough exam that looks at your dental health, overall health, and will take a CBCT to determine the height and thickness of your jawbone (which is essential to safely placing the implants).
Once you have been approved, he will perform the brief surgical placement procedure right here in our Broadview Heights office. You’ll then be given 4-6 months to heal, at which time your implant post(s) will actually bond directly with your jawbone, which will provide even more strength for your new teeth.
After that, you’ll return to our office to have your new restorations placed. We can replace a single tooth using a crown, a few teeth with a bridge, or even an entire arch using an implant-retained denture. No matter what you need, your new teeth will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile, and you can trust them to function similar to your natural teeth.
Who Dental Implants Can Help

Dental implants are often an excellent solution for patients with any number of missing teeth, regardless of where they’re located inside the mouth. However, you’ll need to attend a consultation at our office first; Dr. Zenon Farian is a skilled implant dentist, and he’ll be able to quickly determine if you’re a candidate for this procedure. Ideal dental implant candidates have adequate jawbone density and are free of oral health issues like gum disease; however, in most cases, patients can undergo preliminary treatments to get their mouths ready to host implants.
Missing One Tooth

A custom-made dental crown can be made to replicate your lost tooth down to its very exact specifications. A single dental implant post is placed in the jaw where the tooth is missing, and once it heals, the crown can be attached on top to fully restore the tooth in terms of look and function.
Missing Several Teeth

Patients who are missing several teeth, either in a row or spread out from one another, can receive dental implants, assuming their jawbone has sufficient density. A custom-made bridge or sometimes even a partial denture can be utilized to restore the teeth, regardless of where they’re located. Of course, these replacement teeth will be able to fully support the pressure exerted when biting and chewing.
Missing All Teeth

Implant dentures provide a superior alternative to traditional removable dentures. Implant dentures are supported by several strategically placed dental implants, keeping them securely in place. We can provide full or partial implant dentures depending on a patient’s unique situation. Securing dentures in place with dental implants provides important benefits such as boosted confidence, the ability to chew easily, no slippage while speaking, and retained jawbone mass.
